Finding a solution that fits a mid-sized organization can be a bit reminiscent of Goldilocks and the Three Bears – “this one is too big” or “too small.” But Dell KACE’s new series of comprehensive, easy-to-use and affordable systems management appliances targeted toward medium-sized businesses may be “just right.” The K Series Advanced is the newest line of appliances to join KACE’s Family of Appliances.
Mid-sized organizations have traditionally been an underserved market with a unique set of pain points when it comes to managing its systems. Most industry offerings fall under two categories: low cost limited functionality ones that serve small businesses, and higher cost advanced functionality ones that serve enterprises. Medium sized organizations face the challenge of having to manage scale and to expand with limited budgets. They need enterprise level capabilities at affordable prices and this has largely been unaddressed. Not anymore.
Dell KACE’s K Series Advanced appliances offer enterprise capabilities at “pay-as-you-grow” affordable pricing. The new appliance addresses a key pain point of organizations in the mid-market segment – the frequent need to upgrade IT infrastructure to match their growing scale. Time and budget constraints often keep them from upgrading since most IT system upgrades require rip and replace of older systems. This severely limits their ability to grow and introduces inefficiencies that result from using obsolete IT systems. With the new appliance growing organizations can realize more powerful system management capabilities in terms of the ability to image more systems, inventory more frequently, higher volumes of patching and software distribution and more reliability in general — all at affordable node-based pricing. They enable rapidly expanding businesses to accelerate along their growth path without having to constantly upgrade or to compromise on their systems management quality of service.
With the launch of the new line of appliances KACE now offers 3 lines of appliances within the K-Series — the K1100/K2100 for organizations with up to 1000 end points, the K1100-ADV/K2100-ADV for medium sized businesses with 1000 to 3500 endpoints and the K1200/K2200 to manage up to 20,000 clients. The K1100/K2100 and K1100-ADV/K2100-ADV lines are priced per node and the K1200/K2100 line is priced per appliance.
